KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif wants to have an in-camera session with the Judicial Commission inquiring into match-fixing and betting charges, After having discovered some incriminating evidence against some of the accused players.
The News' has learnt that Latif has sent faxes to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Judicial Commission in Lahore seeking the in-camera session with Justice Malik Muhammad Qayyum, who earlier this week fell ill, as a result of which the final hearing of the commission could not take place on March 3. It is understood that the former keeper has requested for a session since he wants to submit some concrete evidences allegedly implicating some players in the match-fixing and betting racket. These evidences are said to be in the form of audio recordings of some players they had with bookmakers, in which outcome of some matches were discussed and deals brokered. The Commission is due to hold a final hearing in which the accused players would be given the chance to cross examine their accusers and the evidences collected so far by the commission during the course of its inquiry since September last.
